By 1960, KWMT had become fairly sophisticated. The little building housing the early studios had been replaced by a new state-of-the-art facility. Talent had steadily been upgraded with names like Peter McLane, Phil Robbins, Jack Merker, and Paul Oscar Anderson. And, it sported a three man news and farm department.
The new 1960 jingle package, CRC Series #11, skillfully written by Peter McLane, reflected the more mature, smoother sound of KWMT. After all, with the new 5,000 watts at 540 kHz, the primary signal extended well beyond Omaha and Kansas City, and the station needed to sound "big time."
